Monster Attacks Man in His Sleep for Weeks

An old man in Newport, south Wales watched in horror as a giant spider scampered away from a box of bananas he had just brought home from the market.

"The police came around and environmental health came but couldn't find anything. He thought it had gone away," said RSPCA spokesman Gethin Russell Jones

Over the next couples of week he woke a couple of times with large bites, but had failed to make the connection. Earlier this week, as he lay in bed feeling ill, he watched the spider crawl across his wall. He immediately called the RSCPA, who has sent the spider to a vet for identification.

The victim declined to be interviewed and asked that his name not be used.
