Monstrous rats have completely taken over an apartment block in Belfast, forcing terrified residents to fight for their lives.

The situation has deteriorated to the point that living in the apartments is like "living in a horror movie," the BBC reported.

Kids are no longer allowed to play outside, for fears the giant rats will carry the children away and eat them.

A badly shaken woman told of walking her baby in a stroller ... with a massive rat walking right alongside the child.

"The baby was actually delighted to see this furry friend," resident June Brown told reporters. "She did not want to react in case she frightened the child."

Poison and traps have yet to stop the rodent invasion.

The rats have already attacked at least one large dog.
